We're still really curious about how multiplayer will work and what races beyond the Space Marines and Orks will be included, but that'll have to wait until later. Since the game is still pretty far off, it's set to release sometime in the first quarter of 2009, Relic isn't divulging all the details just yet. That means you'll be rewarded with armor and weapons for completing side quests and main story missions as well as get random loot drops from opponents killed during battle. Instead of only providing a limited pool of unlockable and equippable gear like in Dawn of War's Dark Crusade and Soulstorm expansions, Dawn of War II will utilize a system not unlike those found in role-playing games. One of the more interesting aspects is what's being done with the wargear system. Relic is making a lot of changes with their sequel to Dawn of War, something we detailed in our extensive preview yesterday.
